Note: All the dates are tentative and subject to change as per the decision of school authorities or guidelines issued by DOE/CBSE

  1. In order to be declared as ‘Passed’ a candidate shall obtain not less than 33% marks in each of the seven subjects on Cumulative basis in theory and practical separately.

  2. If a student gets less than 33% in one subject, he will be placed in ‘compartment’ in the said subject as per the rules. Student failing in more than one subject shall not be promoted.

  3. . In case of absence due to medical reason, the student may be exempted from First Term Examination in the respective subject and may be promoted on the basis of the annual examination only. However, if a student fails to appear for final examination due to medical grounds, he shall give his exam along with compartment examination. Medical certificate is necessary.

  4. A student having less than 75% attendance in an academic session shall not be permitted to appear in the Final Examination.

  5. Each student has to take each test/examination so as to determine his result on Cumulative basis.

  6. Students will be awarded Marks as well as grades in classes VI-VIII.

  7. It is mandatory to appear in all the Examinations.

Classes VI to VII

Assessment is an integral part of the teaching and learning process. To ensure the effectiveness of student’s educational experience, it is important that varied assessment techniques be used at regular intervals.

SBM has defined the following objectives for assessment:

  1. To provide quality feedback to students so as to ensure growth in learning of students.

  2. To effectively guide students through the essential elements of learning: the acquisition of knowledge, the understanding of concepts, the mastering of skills.

  3. To provide feedback to parents regarding students’ progress through grades.

To achieve the above objective the Academic Session has been divided as follows. The detailed distribution given below

  1. The academic year is divided into two terms and examinations are held at the end of each term.

  2. Evaluation of the Scholastic aspect will be conducted according to the C.B.S.E guidelines which are tabulated below.

  3. School will award grades as per the following grading scale.

    Note-Minimum qualifying grade in all the subjects under Scholastic Domain is D. 32 and below (E) Needs Improvement.

  5. Students found using unfair means during any weekly test or term Examination will be marked zero in that subject. These students will not be eligible for any academic award or school appointment.
